Gallagher averaged a substantially-better even-strength risk/reward rating and ratio in games the Habs either outscored the opposition at even-strength, or won. He produced a similar number of successful puck-possession plays regardless of the game's outcome, but his defensive-involvement (successful d-touches) was dramatically up in games where the Habs had success. Interestingly, the defensive success-rates remained similar, it is simply the number of events per-minute that increased.
Also of note, but not displayed here, is the fact that the additional successful defensive-plays Gallagher produced when the Habs were successful did not come in the offensive-zone; but occurred in the defensive-zone.
The increase in successful defensive-events buoyed his takeaway to turnover ratio, as that also increased substantially in games where the Canadiens were successful. His scoring-chance ratio was lower in games where the Habs were outscored by the opposition at ES, but remained above 4 regardless of whether the team won or lost.
