Gal Gadot Breaks Her Silence on Backlash Over Cleopatra Casting

Gal gadot don't leave the worries for her Cleopatra the cast prevents him from making the next film.

The actress took part in a recent interview with BBC Arabic to promote her new film Wonder Woman 1984. During the appearance, Gal was asked about Egyptians who believe the star's role as queen of this nation is an example of Hollywood laundering.

"First of all, if you want to be true to the facts, then Cleopatra was Macedonian ", the 35-year-old Justice League replied the star. "We were looking for a Macedonian actress who could suit Cleopatra. She was not there. And I was very passionate about Cleopatra."

Gal pointed out that she found the story to be universal and that she believed a lot in helping the director Patty jenkins say.

"For me, as a lover of the people, and I have friends all over the world, whether they are Muslims or Christians or Catholics or atheists or Buddhists or Jews, of course," she said. "People are people. And with me, I want to celebrate Cleopatra's legacy and honor this incredible historical icon that I admire so much."

The actress added, "But, you know, anyone can make this movie, and anyone can go ahead and do it. I'm very passionate that I'm going to make mine too."
