Group Seven (G7) Foreign Minister on Thursday said the increase in restrictions imposed by the Taliban about the rights of women and girls in Afghanistan isolated the country.
“With these steps, the Taliban is increasingly isolating itself from the international community,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs G7 and the Head of European Union’s Foreign Policy.
In a joint statement published by France, they asked the Taliban to take urgent action to elevate restrictions on women and girls and respect their human rights.
The Taliban, who returned to power when the Afghan government fainted last year, on Saturday ordered women to cover their faces in public, in another step towards their hardline rules of their past.
