Fuzhou, China: After Hours!

By Josephharrison1990 @JTAH_1990

You already know that I had done some digging, I had found a suitable nightclub to frequent because Fuzhou had some secrets to tell! Entertaining that 'After Hours' vibe didn't require any encouragement because I was ready for it all! From my BBQ tea to drinks along the riverside, Fuzhou became my 'Saturday Love' even though it was a Tuesday! Me, a celebrity? Not this! No!

Fuzhou, China: After Hours!

Feeling exclusive, I was ready for the night but my half charged phone and battery pack were not! The voltage in the hotel was not the one, as boring as it sounds I had decided to wait a little longer. Like clockwork, I put food first but my original choice didn't come through! Unknowingly, I ended up along the same road where I had enjoyed my breakfast the same day, I wasn't mad just hungry! Seeing the familiar Chinese characters '烧烤' meaning 'BBQ', I knew that I was guaranteed some protein rich quick-ish eats! Ordering the house down, I picked what I wanted from the fridge in the 'living room' like kitchen setting. I made sure that my order included some carbs as well, getting those potatoes ordered had to be done! Opting for a large bottle of '乌苏啤酒' was a must because I was feeling thirsty and I was stone cold sober! Being back in China feels great when BBQ and beer are both involved after dark, there's just something about it I love! Real talk, my order needed hurry up because I wanted to get to the club! Go, go!

My meat skewers tasted great, I ordered a few more so they would help line my stomach for the nights drinking that would take place! The mushrooms tasted amazing, I couldn't get enough of those delicious BBQ treats. A healthy choice was not something on my mind, I did order some green looking vegetables so I could convince myself different. Knocking the beer back I did not, I sipped that ice cold beer because my next stop would serve up some strong mixed drinks. I loved the normal-mess that BBQ place served, that place in my heart that was China broken was able to heal during that moment. Those potatoes were delicious, they are always my go-to order when I have a late night China BBQ meal! Honestly, that BBQ had me feeling different, I felt suitably full with the knowledge that I'd be able to hold my alcohol that night. Fuzhou already knew that I had turned over a new leaf, having that BBQ was all part of the plan to keep me in the land of the living. I had things to do and places to go! A riverside beach park? Yes, '点评' hooked me up!

Fuzhou, China: After Hours!

Embracing my inner 'Taxi Sl*t', I decided that I deserved a nicer car to take me across town to Fuzhou's own 'Casa Corona'. The reviews looked great, the photos even better, I was excited to see what all the fuss was about! I arrived within about 30 minutes, the roads were not congested at all but these Chinese city's are super-sized! Not overrated, I found myself sitting next to a stunning river scene. The nighttime had well and truly arrived, I was ready to kick back before the loudness of the club found me! Underlining issues had to be confronted because those Mojito cocktails weren't strong enough for me, I needed to be feeling wavy before I got to the club! It was getting late, the young ones hadn't yet filled up 'Casa Corona' but as time moved on, they started to show up! Clocking those easy-breezy views had me feeling really chilled out. The weather was top notch, no really those 'After Hours' temperatures were right! I had no complaints about the night, that 'Corona' inspired hangout impressed me much! Another one?

I didn't so much have a wobble on at that point, those woefully weak Mojito drinks had not hit the spot! Scanning that WeChat QR Code once again needed to be done! Conscious of the time, I opted for another double parked order but that second round would be of a spirited kind because you already know that 'liquor is quicker!' I felt like a boss with those Whisky sour drinks, those riverside settings had me feeling blessed and that second order hit the spot! Finally, those drinks were setting in, I felt that pre-party buzz with the quickness! Consulting my map, I had to ensure that my navigation to the club would be the right one! Life had been less than underground in the UK, it felt exciting to be re-entering that world of hidden nightspots once again! Sipping those final drinks left me feeling suitably sozzled but you can bet your bottom Yuan that my senses were still very much intact! 'Casa Corona' had kept things chilled, for that moment of calm I was not feeling mad, I almost felt grown up! Taxi for Joe! Let's get it!

Fuzhou, China: After Hours!

A shopping centre? Yes, my 'G + Party Animal' bound taxi did stop outside that gargantuan Fuzhou shopping mecca! I trusted my map like never before, climbing down some spiraling steps allowed me to see two handsome guys front a ominous looking silver door. I paid my £6.00 to gain entry, judging by their soft voices and even softer features I had reached the correct destination! The drinks situation saw me thinking on my feet, I didn't have to question anything after my crate of Budweiser bottles arrived at my table! I knew what I was going to do! There was no chance me being able to drink all of that beer, sharing it with the guys on the table that had a sofa was my plan. Of course, I did drink a handful of those beers but I wanted to hit the dancefloor and scout out the talent! The game was so real, so very real! Don't act like you don't know! How had I found this 'Gay Club?' After putting the question out on my go-to specific APP, some local Fuzhou guys supplied me with receipts in the form of an address. Here we go, FZ!

I cannot even begin to recount the attention that I received from those friendly men folk, those beers had broken down some serious language barriers! Sometimes language isn't needed, life allowed me to follow a different set of rules during that darkened club moment! It had been a hot minute since I had been in a situation like that, surrounded by such guys who honestly thought I was some kind of superstar. Flattered to the maximum, I stayed humble but like an red blooded man I enjoyed the hell out of that up close and personal vibe! So, yes some photos were taken and I can't vouch the exact album fillers but those men had me in a pretty scandalous position. Even going to the toilet had me surrounded by guys who were telling me how gorgeous I looked, I took that compliment graciously and ran with it! There's different vibes in different clubs and I didn't come across any drama, it was all very positive with such a 'friendly' nature served. A gentlemen never tells, there are just some things that remain confidential. Period boo!
