FUTA Student Reportedly Breaks Guinness World Record After Dj’ing For 15 Days

Agboola Venmark , an undergraduate of the Federal University of Technology, Akure , FUTA has emerged as the current holder of the Guinness World Record for the longest marathon club DJ-ing.

Venmark, popularly known as DJ Venum on campus became the World's Longest Playing DJ after he reportedly played music non-stop for 15 days from 10:40 pm on Wednesday, August 1 to Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at O2 Base lounge and Bar at the Akure Shopping Mall.

The student officially broke the record for Longest Marathon Club DJing previously held by Norbert Selmaj, a DJ from Poland on Wednesday, August 15, 2018.

Announcing the challenge on TV in July, Venmark said "on the first of August 2018, I will be playing non-stop for fifteen days to break a world record. While I am doing this, I will like to donate one million books to Nigerian children in rural areas "

Venmark, who is a 400L student of Ecotourism and Widelife reportedly said the idea was to help support underprivileged children in various rural communities with one million books, which would also help promote education.

According to Guinness World Records, the previous holder of the longest marathon club DJ'ing is Norbert Selmaj, also known as Norberto Loco, from Poland. The DJ played for 200 hours.
