Funky Buddha Teams with Celebrity Cruise Lines

Following in the footsteps of Cigar City Brewing Company of Tampa, Fla. that began offering several of its brews on Carnival cruise ships sailing from Florida ports, Funky Buddha of Oakland Park, Fla. has crafted a deal with Celebrity Cruise Lines to supply craft beer to cruisers. But, the South Florida brewer has gone one step further than its West Coast competitor and has planned an entire four-day, four-night cruise to kick off the new venture.

SEPT. 23, 2014, OAKLAND PARK, FL – Funky Buddha Brewery is pleased to announce it will partner with Celebrity Cruises next spring to launch its first ever Funky Buddha Craft Brew Cruise.  This four-day, four-night cruise, departing on March 12, 2015from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, will give beer aficionados from all over a chance to interact with the folks behind Funky Buddha’s award winning beers and taste many of its most heralded creations in a world-class setting. The announcement of this one-of-a-kind voyage also signals the availability of Funky Buddha Brewery beer aboard Celebrity’s Florida-based ships beginning later this year.

“Teaming up with Funky Buddha Brewery is another exciting step in the evolution of the beverage offerings onboard Celebrity Cruises, and The Craft Brew Cruise will be perfect for beer enthusiasts,” says Michelle Homoky, Director of Field Sales Eastern U.S. for Celebrity Cruises. “Guests onboard will enjoy an array of interactive experiences from a great craft beer brand, while also savoring award-winning cuisine and sailing to inspiring destinations.”

The Craft Brew Cruise will take place onboard the Port Everglades-based Celebrity Constellation, Celebrity’s newly upgraded Millennium-class ship. The cruise will depart on Thursday, March 12, 2015 from Fort Lauderdale and travel to Nassau, Bahamas and Key West, Florida, before returning to Port Everglades on Monday, March 16. Be Well Travel of Pembroke Pines, who were integral in the creation of the cruise, will oversee all booking arrangements.

The itinerary for the cruise includes:

• “Sunset Reception” – Our welcome aboard reception will allow you to mingle with Funky Buddha staff while tasting limited release bottles from the brewery.
• “Beer Pairing Dinner” – Following a day at port in Nassau, Bahamas, this four-course dinner will feature an inspired menu of dishes paired with Funky Buddha Brewery’s beers.
• “Poolside Party” – Relax in the sun and enjoy some of the breweries more interesting, sessionable brews.
• “Genre-Pushing Beers,” a Panel Discussion – Join Funky Buddha Brewery’s brewers and staff for a Q&A discussion on pushing the envelope in brewing, featuring a tasting of rare Funky Buddha Brews.
• “Funky Buddha Pub Crawl” – Drink Funky Buddha’s latest brews as you crawl through Duval Street and beyond at Key West’s best craft beer bars.
