Fun Gift Ideas for 2019

By Twothirstytravellers @2thirstytrav

Whether you’re hunting for a game for your dad or something for a close friend, I’ve got some excellent gift ideas. Remember it’s the thought that counts so if you are working with a bit of a strict budget, don’t feel like you have to spend a lot of money to show someone that you care. Here are my top fun gift ideas for 2019:

1. A Drone
We have a drone and although we don’t use it all the time when we do it’s really special. We have taken it traveling with us which makes for an amazing way to capture special travel pictures. It can be a bit of a learning curve learning how to fly and use a drone, but that’s part of the fun. A drone makes for an excellent gift, especially if the person you’re shopping for is a bit of a tech wizz. There’s quite a few different drones available at a variety of price points so you can find one that suits your budget. Check out OmniView Tech for some great options.

2. A Voucher
I personally love receiving vouchers because they’re special gifts I can use whenever I have the time. If you’re shopping for a woman, I suggest thinking about something that pampers her! You could consider a spa voucher, a massage voucher, or even a voucher for a manicure-pedicure voucher. For the man in your life, something more activity or adventure focused could be a great idea. If you have a snow lover, why not consider buying them a day pass to the mountain or a fun activity.

3. Something for the Home
If you know they would appreciate something for their home, then I think that can make an excellent gift. It will obviously depend on their needs, but some gifts I’d love to receive are things like a wonderful coffee machine, for making great espressos at home. I also think a blender is a great gift if they don’t already have one, so they can make healthy smoothies. If you are planning to move sometime, then you might want to look into furniture rental for staging.

4. Something Travel Related
It wouldn’t be a travel blog without mentioning travel in every post! I think that something travel related makes for a wonderful gift if the person you’re shopping for also loves travel. It can be something small, like a nice photo album where they can store their travel pictures in, or something bigger such as a surprise trip away. This will depend on your budget and how much money you want to spend. My husband and I both did surprise trips for each other – I surprised him with a trip to Israel, Jordan and Germany and he surprised me with a trip to Colombia. We found out what the destination was at the airport, and it was such a fun gift! Obviously, you don’t have to choose something so exotic, even a small local trip away can make for a fun gift.
