Fun display tips for succulents

Succulents are extremely popular houseplants. There are a wide variety of succulents available and they are some of the easiest to grow. While some might believe that they are bland or boring, others know just how much colour and life they can add to any part of your home. They can be displayed inside or outside and there are a number of ways in which you can make the most of their beauty.

The first thing to remember is that succulents come in all shapes and sizes. If you want to create a really impressive design, you should use more than one plant and ensure that they differ in terms of height. Add a flat one, a tall one, and something in between. By using different plants, you will also use different shades of green so you will enjoy a very natural-looking design.

You could also build a terrarium. Terrariums are special glass cases for plants. They maintain the perfect environment for these kinds of plants and you can find them in various shapes and sizes. Before choosing your plants, you should choose your terrarium. Base the size and shape of your terrarium on the space you have available. There's no point in buying a huge terrarium when you only have a small space at your disposal. Once you have your terrarium and plants, you can add soil and rocks to keep your plants in place. Add other decorative items here and there to enhance the appearance of this mini environment. Do take care not to display terrariums in direct sunlight. As the sun shines on the glass, the UV rays and heat becomes trapped and your plants won't survive for long in such harsh conditions.

You can also get creative with your choice in containers if you want a really unique display. You can use anything from a wooden box to a fishbowl and anything in between. No matter the type of container you choose, you should make sure that it is properly filled with soil and gravel. The plants should not be sunken in the container. They should be positioned as close to the surface as possible. This will ensure that the plant gets enough sun exposure. Consider using several containers and placing them beside one another to create an even more impressive display.

You can even use succulents in hanging displays. Use a traditional suspended planter or opt for something different like a hanging terrarium if you prefer. Just take the time to choose your space before you make any other decisions.
