Saw this prototype of the Fuji FA-300 at the Museum of Aeronautical Sciences (outside Narita). Design of the Commander 700 started in Japan in 1971 with the designation FA-300 and in June 1974 Fuji signed a collaboration with Rockwell International to design and develop the aircraft as a joint venture. In 1979 Rockwell sold their General Aviation Division to Gulfstream American and the agreement with Fuji was terminated. Fuji would go on and produce 46 of these twins (MSRP $217,000).
