FRUGAL TIP: How to Make a Probiotic Deodorant Bar

Unrefined Ivory Shea Butter

Are you concerned about the type of chemicals you put on your skin? Commercial deodorants often contain aluminum (with correlations with cancer and Alzheimer), as well as parabens, triclosan, and formaldehyde.
Would you try making your own homemade deodorant? It's very easy, and only takes a few minutes. Plus it is very economical to make.
Here is what you will need:
Coconut oil (or 1/2 as much of another liquid oil)
• shea butter, cocoa butter or mango butter (or a mix of all three)
• beeswax (pastilles)
• baking soda (sensitive skin? use extra arrowroot instead)
• organic arrowroot powder or non-GMO cornstarch
• Optional: Vitamin E oil
• Optional: 2-3 capsules of high-quality probiotics
• Optional: Essential oils of choice – I love using lavender essential oil
Katie Wells, of WellnessMama.com says you'll not only save money and avoid chemicals, but I've found the homemade versions work better too!
