Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven must leave Arendelle in an attempt to save it when the Enchanted Forest appears to have awoken again. As Elsa's powers continue to grow will they be enough to set everything on the right path?

Frozen in 2013 was a truly outstanding cinematic event and became so popular with Let It Go and Do You Wanna Build a Snowman played everywhere. But it was so much more than that it was the continuing of the turning point for Disney with Tangled (2010) and Brave (2012) setting a new standard in terms of stories.
I personally didn't feel we really needed a second film as Frozen was so good, with the mixture of songs, story and the different meanings mixed together. However, I totally adored Frozen 2 and really pleased with the way they have managed to keep a very high standard. The musical numbers are very impressive and I am sure some have the potential to be very popular.
The film is visually stunning, something I always find very strange saying about animated films but it is true. It is gorgeous to look at and really helps highlight what can be done with animation now thinking back to very early Disney and how flat everything is and not a whole lot of different colours. This really does look amazing.
The story starts with a flashback to Elsa and Anna being told a story about the Enchanted Forest by their father and why it had been closed off for years and the fog. Back to the present day and Elsa hears a voice calling to her in song, she cannot get away from this and she begins to distance herself from Anna again. That was never going to be allowed again as Anna was determined to help her sister in anyway possible.
While this is going on poor Kristoff is constantly trying to propose to Anna but he just can't seem to get the timing right. Ending up annoying her more than anything by saying the wrong thing, isn't this a total shift in character for Anna from the first film but more importantly the way Disney now works well and truly away from the whole Prince Charming theme! Something I totally love!
Olaf given more time to cement being one of the funniest Disney characters around showing that the humour is not just for the kids, things in for the adults as well especially with his song "When I Am Older" apparently everything is going to make sense! This certainly made me chuckle and think don't we all wish!
The songs were very impressive as I mentioned earlier with "Into the Unknown" trying to be "Let It Go" in this film, although personally I think Disney will struggle to find something as perfect as that, could be straight out of a musical theatre show with that show-stopping number! We then get a good mixture with the characters with "Some Things Never Change". "Lost in the Woods" becoming an amazing and strange boyband style music video, which was hilarious it has to be said.
While the story isn't groundbreaking it is nice enough at different times and has a slight twist that it works. Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jonathan Geoff and Josh Gad all really do tremendous voice work in addition to nailing each and every song. Those four could easily start in a Broadway show together, that is why I really think the Frozen films work so well in a musical sense! I guess we just aren't ready to let it go yet!
