Story: Frost starts when a heavily pregnant woman Abby (Pinn) visits her estranged father Grant (Wells) in a remote mountain home. The two look to put aside their differences to welcome the newest member of the family.

This sees the pair go on a road trip, only for disaster to strike when they crash off the road. Abby is left trapped inside the car in the freezing conditions, while Grant goes in search of rescue.

Verdict on Frost

Characters

Abby is a heavily pregnant woman; she is looking to rebuild her relationship with her father before she has her child. This meeting seems to go well for her, giving her hope for a bright future. However, this takes a turn for the worse, when they have an accident, leaving Abby trapped in the car. She is left in frozen conditions hoping her father can find rescue.

Grant is Abby’s father who lives in the mountain home. He is delighted to see his daughter and learn the news he will become a grandfather. After the accident, he goes in search of help, knowing he knows the area and the best route to safety.

Performances

Devanny Pinn spends most of the movie alone, giving her a chance to carry the movie along the way. She does a great job in the solo role, which sees her go through a traumatic experience. Vernon Wells does well in his supporting role, even if he doesn’t get to do that much.

Story

The story follows a heavily pregnant woman that finds herself trapped inside a car after an accident, while her father goes in search of help. This creates the tension that leaves Abby fighting for her life.

The story is kept simple enough, where it is someone trapped in weather conditions. It keeps us wondering how things will unfold and ends up leaving us with a shocking series of events. This does leave us disturbed along the way.

Themes

Frost is a horror thriller that uses freezing conditions and isolation to show a battle to survive a woman must go through. It increases the tension and leads to the shockingly disturbing consequences we go through. This will create different threats for Abby to deal with along the journey.

Final Thoughts Frost is a shockingly disturbing thriller.
