From the Mountains -1

By Suravishome

Woke up to chants today. Walked out of the room, and took in the view slowly. A marble white temple and the Ganges right behind it. And the smell of incense. Ma walked to me with a steaming hot cup of tea. And baba said predictably - we are running late already. Ma and I smiled and ignored.

This is my trip with ma and dad. To Rishikesh, Gangotri, Kedar and Badrinath. Since I have become a little more tech savvy of late, thought will blog on the fly. Just left for Gangotri. Around 250 kms from Rishikesh.  Which means we'll mostly get in by evening. Past one year, quite a few trips have happened in the mountains. I have almost stopped pestering the driver to stop at every turn we take. :) Trips with parents have just become so rare. There was a time when baba used to make extensive itineraries for all summer and winter vacations. Then, college happened and well, life happened. Finding time together became tougher. So, even if this is a religious trip, I am excited!

Baba's new idea as we drive through these roads - I should come here again on my Vespa. Needless to say, ma was not very supportive about it. :) More from Gangotri.
