Man Kills One, Injures Three Others After Fight At Halloween Party
An Austin, Texas Halloween party turned violent this weekend after a man in a Santa costume opened fire on guests in his home, fatally shooting one person and injuring three others.
According to Daily Mail reports:
32-year-old Randall Gaston Jones was asked to leave the party by his roommates after becoming ‘highly intoxicated’ during the costume party, Austin Police Lt. Jason Staniszewski said during a news conference.
Jones allegedly returned to the party with a handgun and began firing shots. While most partygoers were able to find cover, police say Michael McCloskey, 38, tried to stop Jones and was shot several times. McCloskey died after being taken to a local hospital.
Two women were also hospitalized for treatment, one who remained in critical condition Monday and another who has since been released. A third victim refused treatment at the crime scene.
Jones headed to a neighbor’s home after the shooting where he revealed a fight had happened and agreed to surrender to police. When cops arrived Jones’ handgun was on the welcome mat and Jones was waiting for them outside.
According to police, Jones knew all of the victims.
Jones was booked into Travis County jail and charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. A murder charge is pending, Staniszewski said.
This is terrible. Can you imagine planning for a fun Halloween and ending up in the hospital, jail or worse — dead– instead? Prayers up for the victims and their families.
