Today’s #FriFotos topic is #views. With that in mind, we decided to share some of our favorite unexpected views. These came from our Florida to Alaska Road Trip as we traveled from Key West, FL to Dead Horse, AK across a span of 60 days.
Our first view came rather unexpectedly when we stopped for a roadside break in a small park along the Obey River. We didn’t really expect to see much as we were just stopping to stretch our legs. It just goes to show that beauty awaits those who seek it out.

This next view came to us when we were in Rapid City, SD. We spent the day visiting several National and State Parks and were completely awed by the serenity of this spot in Badlands National Park.
These lands don’t look so bad at all
Our ultimate goal of our Florida to Alaska Road Trip was to make it up the Dalton Highway and drive to a small town called Dead Horse. It’s the northern most point in the US that one can drive to. This view came as we crested a hill on the highway and saw the road intersect with the Trans-Alaskan Oil pipeline.

This landscape view struck us because it combines a couple of our favorite things, Autumn and Trains. It was also a very surreal view to us because we had recently left Alaska and Canada where Winter was well on its way. Here we were driving South through Oregon and were watching Winter turn backwards into Fall.

This view is of one of our favorite treats. We came across this guy at Voodoo Doughnuts while spending the day inPortland, OR. Not the view you’d expect, but a lovely view if you’re looking to satisfy your sweet tooth

This last view comes to us in the desert of Arizona while visiting the Petrified Forest National Park. The day was beautiful and clear as we enjoyed the barren and petrified landscape. Then suddenly, with a quick change of wind direction, or view changed completely as these clouds came from nowhere.
