Friendship Day Special: It’s difficult to imagine life without friends. Remember the wise old saying, ‘friends are the family we choose’? It’s true. Not only it’s fun having our friends around but they are the ones who would fish us out of any difficult situations or become our lifesavers during hours of need.
We don’t need to elaborate on the importance of having a bunch of friends and like all good things in life, the more friends we have, the merrier it is. In fact, we may not realize it but all of us have different types of friends—while some will provide us with the much-needed comic relief during stressful times, others would offer us a shoulder to cry on during hours of need. Friendship Day Special.
Friendship Day Special: Without Friends life is Incomplete.
1. The Funny Friend
We all have that one friend who can make you cry with laughter. He or she is usually the ‘cool dude’ of the group and has this uncanny ability to look at the funny side of any situation. Such friends make life a memorable affair.
2. The Wise One Friend
He or she is the enlightened one of the group. Be it academics or life in general, he or she knows everything. Their level of IQ is beyond anyone’s imagination and you feel safe whenever such a wise friend is around.
3. The Disappearing Friend
You used to have a really good friend that you spent a lot of time with. This friend went on one of those trips to South East Asia to go find themselves, and then never really came back. You now monitor their movements around the world via Instagram uploads.
4. The Drama Queen Friend
When we say drama queen, we don’t just mean a girl. This particular friend knows how to steal the limelight. His or her life is no less than a Bollywood movie. They are animated and full of life. We have to give them this credit—there is never a boring moment in our life when they are around.
5. The Agony Aunt
There is this one friend who has the solution to all our problems. Be it our relationship problems or work troubles, he or she is always there to lend an ear to our tales of woe. Surprisingly, the agony aunt friend is not only a good listener but also good at solving our problems.
6. A Loyal Best Friend
Sometimes a loyal best friend is the only thing you need to stay sane. Everyone needs a non-judgmental friend who will support them no matter what. This is the kind of friend who lets you be a hot mess and knows all of your deepest and darkest secrets but still loves you all the same.
7. The Parent Figure
Ah! A friend like this never gives us an opportunity to miss our parents. They worry about our well-being, keeps an eye on the company we keep and has an opinion about the person we are dating. Love it or not, they can be quite irritating and be intimidating at times, but our life would be incomplete without them.
8. A Polar Opposite
We, humans, are hard-wired to get together in groups and attack outsiders — the human pack mentality, if you will. If you only develop friendships with others who follow the same beliefs, customs, and values as you do, chances are you’re somewhat detached from the rest of the world, and you’re more likely to perpetuate stereotypes on anyone who holds a different worldview from you.
9. The Troublemaker Friends
This friend is controversy’s favorite child. Wherever you go with him or her, trouble would closely follow your heels. No matter how big a trouble magnet that person may be, you can never stay away from him or her because of this one simple reason—friends are forever!
10. Fearless Adventurer Friend
We live in a big world where there are so many places to see, people to meet, and experiences to be had, yet so many of us are stuck in our own routines and forget to, well, live. We all need an adventurous friend who will pull us out of our shells and introduce us to new ideas, cultures, philosophies, and activities.
