Adam writes… Two London music icons for the price of one this week via New York guitarist and Bowie collaborator Reeves Gabrels.
The King of Stamford Hill was written by Bowie and is believed to be about glam legend Marc Bolan. The incident recalled in the song is said to have been inspired by the young Mod Bolan's return to his old northeast London stamping ground only to find himself a forgotten man where he had once been the Ace Face.
As I blog this, we are a week out from the 69th anniversary of Bolan's birth.
