Friday is Rock'n'Roll London Day – A DIY Blue Plaque
Elsewhere in Rock'n'Roll London…
Down in deepest South London - Richard won't be walking quite that far today on the Rock'n'Roll London Walk – we found this plaque a few months ago…
Friday is Rock'n'Roll London Day – A DIY Blue Plaque Whether it is still there or not, we've been unable to confirm but it is placed near the spot where AC/DC singer Bon Scott died. It's not an English Heritage plaque, it's not even a Southwark blue plaque. It's not even faintly "official". It seems to have been dedicated by a bloke called Nev.
It's an even LONGER walk to Bon Scott's "official" plaque – Kirriemuir in Scotland, Scott's birthplace (also the birthplace of J.M Barrie). So it's good to have a commemoration here in London. Nice one Nev, good job.
The Rock'n'Roll London Walk takes place today at 2pm meeting at Tottenham Court Road Station.
A London Walk costs £10 – £8 concession. To join a London Walk, simply meet your guide at the designated tube station at the appointed time. Details of all London Walks can be found at www.walks.com.
