Elsewhere in Rock’n’Roll London…
The Hope & Anchor in Upper Street, Islington, is still a fine boozer…
… its history, in terms of rock'n'roll, is rich indeed. One of the bastions of the fecund and vibrant Pub Rock scene of the 70s. It also played host to U2, way back in 1980 when they made their English debut here.
The Hope lies a couple of miles to the north of where our Rock'n'Roll London Walk ends, but we'll be happy to give you directions. Tomorrow (16th March) there's a punky-indie night with (of course) live music. Here's the website for details.
