Friday is… Rock'n'Roll London Day
Elsewhere in Rock’n’Roll London…
Leafy North London. Quiet. Sedate. Posh.
The last place one would expect to find The Sex Pistols.
Friday is… Rock'n'Roll London Day
Pictured is Holly Village in Highgate, as featured in the 1980 film The Great Rock’n’Roll Swindle. In the movie this English Gothic structure is adorned with Malcolm McLaren’s makeshift coat of arms bearing the slogan “Cash From Chaos”. Filming also took place just up the road in Highgate Cemetery, the location for the hilarious You Need Hands scene.
Highgate Cemetery is the final resting place of Pistols’ svengali McLaren, buried there in April 2012 after a commemorative Minute Of Mayhem and a funeral cortege that passed through Camden Town.
