In a move that surprises everyone, it turns out that Sandler’s poorly reviewed sequel is actually ahead of both Despicable Me 2 and Pacific Rim, though all three movies started strong. Typically, kids films like Despicable Me 2 see a large bump on Saturday, which could make up the difference of Friday’s box office, and make it a close race for the top spot. In other news, The Heat broke 100M on Friday, and Fruitvale Station is having an excellent weekend.
