Fresh Tulips to Decorate Your Home

By Simon Crowther @prestigeflower

Fresh tulips are the perfect choice when you want to decorate your home in the spring. They are readily available and affordable at this time of year. If you choose tulips for your home, you are in luck because there are a number of great ways in which you can display them. Here are some ideas.

Mason jars

Fresh tulips arranged in mason jars can be displayed just about anywhere in your home. These jars are large enough to hold several stems yet small enough to fit in just about any corner of any room. Smaller rooms, like your bathroom, are difficult to decorate. However, with tulips in mason jars, you can add plenty of colour and make the room feel more welcoming.

Colour choice

Another reason why fresh tulips are so popular is because they are available in so many different colours. There are also several shades of each colour from which you can choose. Pastels are often the top choice for this time of year. Lighter shades of yellow, purple and pink are some of the best options.

Taller displays

Fresh tulips have fairly tall stems. Many people worry that these blooms will start to wilt due to the weight of the flower head. However, there are some steps you can take to prevent this from happening. One great tip to remember is to support the flower heads by using floral wire and green floral tape to hold them upright.

Pretty floating petals

Your arrangements don't always need to consist of fully intact flowers. There are other ways in which you can use your tulips even if they start to lose their petals. Place a shallow, decorative bowl of water on your table and add some colourful tulip petals on top of the water. Allow them to float and add colour to your table.

These are just a few great ideas for using fresh tulips to brighten your home. When you notice that your flowers start to wilt, remember that you can always press the petals so that you can use them in flower crafts too.
