This week’s Fresh Finds Friday brings back the Soul and R&B that we’ve been missing out in the past years with Call Out My Name by Ruby Valle & The Soulphonics.
When the song starts you don’t know what you are in for until the lead singer Ruby Velle lets out that first note. You can’t help but feel like you’re at home when you hear her voice. You will first go this is very unique but I know I’ve heard it before. To me, she really reminded me of an old school artist and of the late singer Amy Winehouse.
It’s not just the vocals that make the song the best thing you need to listen right now. The band The Soulphonics sure make sure they are living up to their name. They are able to pull off the old school Soul and R&B sound so well that you would think they are reusing a track from a classic song.
This group will soon be making it big and that is right I’m making sure you all listen to Call Out My Name. Ruby Velle & The Soulphonics have already been on the same bill with artists like; Erykah Badu, the XX, Gary Clark Jr., Animal Collective, Feist, and even Kendrick Lamar.
