SUSTAINABILITY LIVE is an annual event and like the sustainability industry itself it has grown steadily each year. The industry comprises many specialist technologies and methodologies, and expos are the best place to learn more, I find.
I attended the first day of the expo. It took up two halls in the Birmingham NEC and is a combination of three separate sustainability events:
NEMEX Energy Live – New Energy Management Excellence
EfW Expo – Energy from Waste
IWEX Water - Water sustainability
This is the first year EfW has joined the fold and it made quite an entrance. Because I was covering the event for The Eco Experts my main interest was NEMEX and the lectures on energy policy and energy efficiency – I’ll publish my pieces on all this shortly - but as a nice surprise EfW really grabbed my attention.
I met some great people on the trade floor, such as:
the team at Aston University who have invented a fantastic waste energy plant,
Cornwall’s energy efficiency impresario and scientist Paul Bright,
and Maxine, who has started up Resource Revolution.
I’m going to write about them individually, and you’ll find those articles on the blog soon.
More on Sustainability Live in the coming days
Until then, how about a spot of sludge handling?
