Prime Minister Narendra Modi began the Republic Day 2024 celebrations by paying tribute to the brave soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces at the National War Memorial in Delhi on Friday.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh received PM Modi upon his arrival at the memorial. Major Indrajeet Sachin from the Sixth Battalion of Sikh Regiment commanded the guards this year. During the wreath-laying ceremony, the Inter-Services Guards presented ‘Salami Shastra’ and ‘Shok Shastra’, while buglers played the ‘Last Post’.
