Information plays a vital role in the functioning of technology. Since each and every person is completely dependent on information, Internet of things is also stepping ahead for promising a great pool of connection at a simple click. Bug Labs, a New York based web developer has recently come up with a dashboard known as Freeboard. Freeboard is very simple to operate and function. It is solely web based which can track each and every device which is connected with the help of internet. It becomes a mediator or a connector in connecting all the devices with one another. Gartner has recently revealed that devices connected through Internet of things will be crossing around 26 billion by the year 2020. It made immense growth since 2009. With the growth in the usage of internet of things devices, Bug Labs took the initiative by launching Freeboard. It works on real time data.
Freeboard will be developing a modular platform which can build and deploy innovative and enterprise class IoT applications which would be enable connection quickly and in fun.
How Freeboard dashboard work?
Bug Labs will develop Freeboard in a way that it would provide platform to every developer which can easily create applications for Internet of Things. Bug Labs initially launched “dweeto.io” in the month of March. Dweeto.io is a messaging service which can enable the devices to connect together. Once the device gets connected to “dweeto.io”, the platform will be assigned with the name of the device and begin the transfer of data. The cloud receives the data and connects the entire device with one another. The GPS function in the device provides real time data to the user. Freeboard enables the user to compile all the “dweets” together. This would further present the information in the form of meaningful text, gauges and graphs. This would enable the user to track real time information of weather, temperature, destination, etc… in one single system. This would enable the user to access information well in hand. It can sense pollution levels and air pressure with great ease. The user can develop a widget with great ease that can furnish every other information well in hand.
On signing up with the Freeboard UI, the system will give out a prompt for the user to connect the dashboard with any third party gadget like laptop, tablet, etc… Once the interface is signed into, the dweet will ask for the name of the user. Freeboard is an open source which can enable the users to pick and choose whatever app and information that the user would like to access upon. Some of the examples are: cigar humidor for tracking lid position, track humidity, temperature, dashboard, environment check, etc
