How to decorate for a cowboy party
One of the best ways to create a cowboy party atmosphere is to decorate your party space with western-themed decorations. You can find plenty of inexpensive items at your local dollar store, or go all out and order some themed party supplies online. Some ideas for western decorations include:
– Western-themed tablecloths and plates
– Pinatas in the shape of cacti or cowboy hats
– Stuffed animals dressed as cowboys or cowgirls
For a more interactive party decoration, set up a “salooon” by hanging a sheet over two chairs to create a makeshift doorway. Decorate the saloon with cardboard cutouts of wanted posters, or even create your own!
How to entertain at a cowboy party
What’s a cowboy party without some fun games? Here are a few of our favorites:
Pin the tail on the donkey – This classic party game is perfect for a cowboy theme! Simply draw or print out a donkey, and cut out tails from construction paper. Blindfold each player in turn, spin them around a few times, and see who can come the closest to placing the tail on the donkey!
Balloon pop – Another classic party game with a cowboy twist! Fill up balloons with water (or sand for a mess-free alternative), and tie them to a string. Suspend the string from a clothesline or other high point, and give each player a stick. The object of the game is to be the first to pop all of their balloons by hitting them with their stick.
Musical chairs – This game is always a hit with kids! Set up chairs in a circle, and play music as the kids walk (or dance!) around the chairs. When the music stops, everyone has to find a seat. The player left without a chair is out, and one chair is removed from the circle. Continue playing until there’s only one player left!
Cowboy relay race – Divide players into teams, and line them up at the starting line. At the other end of the room, set up a table with 10 small items that are typically found on a ranch, such as a horseshoe, a bucket, a rope, etc. The first player in each team must run to the table and collect one item, then run back and tag the next player in line. That player then does the same, and so on until all items have been collected. The first team to finish wins!
These are just a few ideas to get you started – use your imagination and come up with even more fun cowboy party games!
