Story: Frankenstein: Legacy starts as we meet the Browning family. Doctor William (Barber) helps the town with his medical expertise. He lives in the family mansion with his father Robert (Brown) and Mother Millicent (Aubrey). When Robert dies after an attack, Millicent wants to use Victor Frankenstein’s journals to bring him back to life.

Elsewhere, Liza’s (Afryea) father suddenly dies. William and Liza share grief and when the bodies go missing, they start investigating. However, Millicent has used the journals to bring her husband back to life.

Verdict on Frankenstein: Legacy

Frankenstein: Legacy is a different take on the Frankenstein story. It uses the idea that journals have passed through a generation and people want to use the ideas to bring their loved ones back to life. However, it has become a battle for control of the journals that have taken over.

This does bring moments of a fresh take on the concept. However, it keeps the core aspect of the original story alive. It is the newer ideas of the journals being passed through people and people hunting for them which stand out. We get the same message about the dangers of getting involved with reincarnation. However, this can get caught up on wanting to keep things similar to the original novel, instead of unleashing the hunting for the journals side of the story.
