The Wrap (which recently ran an article that ended up not being true… so take this with a grain of salt) is claiming that immediately after Mike Darnell quit his job with FOX, that Nigel and Ken were let go from American Idol. They also followed up that report with several other bits of news about American Idol.
Jennifer Hudson’s deal is almost done. She’s rumored to be earning between 4 and 5.5 million. They’re just waiting on FOX’s stamp of approval.
Adam Lambert and Clay Aiken have NOT officially received offers, but are still being considered, with Idol preferring Adam to Clay.
They confirm that Kelly was approached, but they claim that FOX is still trying to get her, even though Kelly’s rep has said she will not be on the panel.
They are considering having just one alumni return, and keeping Keith Urban (which basically is what seems to be happening, if they go with Keith, J.Lo, and J. Hud).
Interestingly, The Wrap doesn’t mention how J. Lo mixes into this at all.
