The Police have arrested four people, including a National People’s Power (NPP) candidate contesting from the Monaragala Batugammana Division at the Local Government election, who were digging for treasure near Mayuragiri Aranya Senasana, Weliyaya in Monaragala.
They were arrested in a raid conducted yesterday based on information received to STF camp in Buttala with the support of the Monaragala PoliceThe NPP 32-year-old NPP candidate together with his 52-year-old father, a 42-year-old man who works in the Storage Department of the Monaragala High Court and a 25-year-old man who lives in Monaragala were arrested.
