Four Hospitalised After OIC’s Jeep Collides

The driver, two women and a small child who were traveling in a three wheeler were injured and hospitalised after the trishaw they were  traveling collided with a jeep driven by the OIC of the Danowita Police Station. A senior police official stated that the condition of the boy is serious.

The Traffic Division of the Mirigama Police, which is investigating the accident, states that the jeep involved in the accident is a private vehicle belonging to the OIC. The OIC has said he had to take a sharp turn to avoid hitting a person who was crossing the road abruptly and at that moment the jeep collided with the three-wheeler coming in the opposite direction.

The police officer was traveling in his jeep when the accident occurred during duty hours. In that regard, he has said that he was going to check other police officers who were on duty.
