Police found the bodies of the four students who went missing on Tuesday while bathing in the Wellawaya Ellawela falls.
The body of Ahmed Lebbe Mohammad Afzal (21) was found Tuesday evening. Police said the Navy, Police and the local residents were able to recover the bodies of the other three, Mohammad Labir Mohammad Suri (21), Abubakar Hanaf (21), and Mohammad Nafiz(20) yesterday. These students, who are studying in a higher education institution, are residents of Kalmunai and Saindamarudu areas, and they had gone to see the Ellawala waterfall with a group of friends on Tuesday.
Their bodies have been placed in the Wellawaya Hospital and arrangements have been made to conduct the post-mortem examination, according to police.
