Verdict on Founders Day
Founders Day is a horror slasher following a small town coming under attack by a new masked killer. It has the backdrop of a mayoral campaign that has already increased tension throughout the town. However, as the bodies pile up, the mystery of who the killer is comes out.
The slasher movie can be a difficult model to break into, with the large amounts of franchises around. This movie looks to bring us a new twist-filled slasher, as we are kept wondering who the killer is and what their motives will be. The kills are brutal, as you would have come to expect in the more modern slasher. Meanwhile, the added tension across the town about the mayoral vote is an interesting addition to show how it could create more finger-pointing. Naomi Grace makes for a great leader lady in the movie. The mask feels iconic and works to add creepy factors to everything we see.
Final Thoughts –Founders Day is a slasher with tons of blood and a new iconic mask.
