Forty-three Amendments in Anti-Corruption Bill

Galle District Parliamentarian Chandima Weerakkody said in Parliament that 43 amendments have been made to the Anti-Corruption Bill. The MP said that the amendments were given not to relax the laws related to theft, but to further fulfill the people’s expectations and improve the Bill.

MP Weerakkody mentioned that there are 163 Sections in the Bill, but only one section mentions the return of money that has been stolen and taken abroad.
