Fourteen days Chapter 2 Season 4 is just around the corner. In the past few years, switching from one season to the next has been associated with a huge in-game event, but this time the real show is Epic Games' publisher legal action against Apple and Google.
The popular Battle Royale game kicks off the next season in less than a week. However, not all changes may occur for mobile gamers. Fortnite isn't currently available on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store after Epic tried to bypass a 30% fee that the two tech giants are charging developers for transactions on their platforms. It is not known if things will change before season four begins.

Here's everything we know so far about the next season of Fortnite.
When does the fourth season start?
The next season kicks off on August 27, as Epic has confirmed on multiple occasions, including a tweet sent out on Friday that features a new logo linked to Marvel.
Season 4 will be available for PC, PS4, Xbox One, Android and Nintendo Switch. Player on iOS Devices, on the other hand, may not be able to play the new season when it starts, as explained below.
What's the theme for the season?
According to Friday's tweet, Epic appears to be resuming its relationship with Marvel for season four. The emojis in the tweet consist of a hammer, lightning bolt and rainbow, which can be translated into Thor's hammer Mjolnir. A lightning bolt to match his God of Thunder powers and a rainbow depicting the Bifrost Bridge that was used to enter Asgard. The Fortnite logo appears to feature the latest rendering of the Nordic hero from the Thor # 1 issue, which was released in January.
The speculation among the game's data miners is that the next season will have a comic book theme, especially Marvel Comics. One tweeted More details on what's coming in the next season, including a point of interest on the map related to Thor, a Wolverine character skin, a variation on a character outfit with claws similar to Wolverine, and collectable comics.
Ok, now that my source was correct, here are a few more details:
- There will be a Marvel / Thor POI
- There will be a Wolverine skin
- They also had a Peely with little banana claws concept (like the meme "Wolverine Banana")
- Comic pages are found and collected on the map- HYPEX (@HYPEX) August 21, 2020
This is definitely not the first time Fortnite has introduced Marvel heroes. The Battle Royale game had special time-limited modes thank you and the Infinity glove as a link to the publication of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Another partnership with the comic book company was in season 2 when Dead Pool was the secret Battle Pass skin.
Can I play the new season on iOS and Android?
Epic is in the middle of a legal battle with Apple and Google. On August 13, Epic attempted to hit the 30% fee developers have to pay for transactions on the App Store and Google Play Store by implementing a system called Fortnite Mega Drop, which allows players to use V-Bucks, the in- System that could buy game currency, directly from Epic and bypassing Apple and Google's cut.
Apple was the first to remove Fortnite from the App Store. In response, Epic posted a video parodying the famous Macintosh ad based on George Orwell's "1984" and also filed a lawsuit against Apple for anti-competitive practices. A similar lawsuit was filed the same day Google removed the game from its store. Epic then launched one #FreeFortnite Social media campaign and will even hold one Free Fortnite Cup tournament on August 23.

Due to legal action, iOS users cannot download Fortnite or updates for the game if they already have it installed on their device. This has resulted in people trying to sell iPhones with Fortnite installed for thousands of dollars on eBay. Epic has filed for a temporary injunction to continue business as usual while the litigation continues, but Apple has filed a legal response saying it Epic cannot return until after following the rules. A trial on the matter is scheduled for next week.
Android players can still do this Install Fortnite on their devices. The only difference is that you have to download the game directly from Epic or through the Samsung Galaxy Store rather than the Google Play Store.
