The Federal Prisons Office has confirmed that the daughter of ex-British media magnate Robert Maxwell has been detained at Brooklyn Federal Prison , after spending the weekend in a New Hampshire, New England state prison where she was arrested on Thursday.

After consultation with her lawyer, federal prosecutors in Manhattan asked that she be brought before a federal judge on 08 July, according to a document registered with the court.

At this hearing, prosecutors should insist that this figure from the jet-set of 58 years either maintained in detention, without possibility of release on bail.

Ghislaine Maxwell presents “an extreme risk of flight”, they argued in a document made public after his arrest.

Mrs Maxwell is accused of having “helped, facilitated and contributed to the sexual assaults on minors of Jeffrey Epstein”, of 1994 at 1997. She is said to have recruited penniless young adolescents aged for him 14 years and over, and sometimes allegedly participated directly in the attacks .

Born in France, educated in Great Britain and then naturalized American in 2002, Ghislaine “Maxwell has three passports, large sums of money, vast international connections and absolutely no reason to stay in the States “United and risk a long prison sentence,” said prosecutors.

Used to luxurious residences and private flights, this woman, who now risks 33 Years in prison, they say has over 15 bank accounts, in the United States and foreigner, whose total balance has reached up to 24 millions of dollars since 2016, according to prosecutors.

The one who was Jeffrey Epstein's girlfriend once sold a New York property for some 14 million dollars in 2016, and has “substantial financial resources” even if the whole remains “opaque”, they said.

The property of some 60 hectares where she was arrested in New Hampshire, almost a year later the suicide in prison of Jeffrey Epstein, was thus acquired in cash by a fine shell company 2016.

Mrs Maxwell is also accused of “having repeatedly lied” when testifying under oath at trial in civil in 2016.

No reason was given for his detention in Brooklyn rather than at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan, very close to the court, where Jeffrey Epstein was found dead by hanging in August 2019.

Many media had speculated in recent days that she could be detained in this same prison, when she too could be considered as risk for a suicide attempt.
