Forget Ebola.com, Where is Ebola.Gov ?

Posted on the 15 October 2014 by Worldwide @thedomains

Over the last couple of days there have been a lot of stories about the domain name Ebola.com being put up for sale.

Domain publications and mainstream media have written extensively about the domain.

What we have not heard is anything about Ebola.gov.

Why?

Well the name has not even been registered by the U.S. government.

This name could and should be used by the United States as a portal to news about the disease, symptoms, how and where to get treatment, quarantine information, outbreak information and all other things related to the disease.

The site should be the official site for all information related to Ebola.

Protecting and informing  it’s citizens is one of the basic principals of any country and the US Government has failed in this instance.

As I write this , I’m listening to a press conference by the White House spokesman about Ebola.com and the President has canceled some fundraising trips scheduled for today to deal with this outbreak.

It is the most urgent and pressing issue in the United States today.

Someone at the White House needs to wake up and get a proper site up on Ebola.Gov and the mainstream media needs to stop worrying about the owner of a domain name that was  put for sale and instead get on the White House for its failure to make use of Internet, and keep its citizens informed.
