Verdict: Smile Inducing Rom Com
Story: For the Love of George starts in England, where Poppy (Jordan) is preparing for her husband’s birthday, only to learn about his affair, packing her bags and heading to LA to see friend Justin (Lee) and search for George Clooney.
Extending her stay in LA in hope to bump into George as we see how her obsession with finding the perfect man starts to make her question her own decisions as she see Dr Faye Carter (Arquette) and psychic Sara (Johnston) showing the extremes she will go to find her place.
Thoughts on For the Love of George
Characters – Poppy is the married journalist, she has always tried to look after her husband, but learning of his affair she heads to LA to start a fresh. She sets herself an unrealistic goal in finding a new man and other tasks to keep her mind of her marriage collapse, this is a good character that shows how one person whose life can be shattered by an affair, leaving them lose in the next stage of their life. Justin was the wedding planner for Poppy, he offers her a place to stay in LA, he gives her a new option to how life could go as they are both looking for a dreamy guy.
Performances – Nadia Jordan takes on both the lead role and writing credits here, she is good in this role as her character does go through the emotional changes as the story unfolds. Rex Lee is good because he brings us the fun character that gets laughs through the film. the cast is good through the film, each characters get the laughs needed for the film.
Story – The story follows one lady whose life is turned upside down after learning of an affair, seeing what she does to recover is interesting as it shows how life could go in a new direction for her making her happy, it shows that if you get the chance you should always take it, but you will need to learn the different between realistic and unrealistic dreams.
Comedy/Romance – When it comes to comedies, you need to make the audience laugh, this will make you laugh through the film without any problems. The romance side of the film shows the aftermath of a marriage and what new romantic ideas it could open, ones you want or ones you don’t.
Settings – The film is set in LA, which seems to make sense when it comes to trying to track down George Clooney, we get plenty of reference to why Poppy could be a fish out of water with the different culture she is entering too.

Final Thoughts – This is an enjoyable romantic comedy, it will make you laugh at times and make you think about life when needed. It has a good cast that perform well and will leave you with a smile.
Overall: Great romantic comedy
