Story: For Prophet starts when Damon (Marten) gets a visit from the Archangel Raphael (Garcia). They try to guide him in the right direction in life, making him a prophet and stepping away from his Demon (Natale). However, his path comes with problems, as he must expose his hometowns corruption.
As Damon goes about his journey, the town starts turning on him, until he can step out from the control of Raphael and the Demon. It leads him down a path he needs to challenge himself and his beliefs.
Verdict on For Prophet
For Prophet is a fantasy drama following a man who has been dealing with a daily demon who wants to challenge his local town. He must learn to face the voices in his mind who guide him to do the right thing for everyone.
This movie dives into people wanting to change, even if they find direction in an unlikely place. It uses faith inspiration to show one man’s journey and battle to do the right thing. However, it seems to show him as somebody about to lose their mind, who could be dismissed a lot quicker than anyone else. This leaves the movie leaning too heavily into the faith-based concept. There are a few funny moments, with the one which stood out for me was the Mayor being called Kevin Owens and them needing to make a point he isn’t the wrestler.

Final Thoughts – For Prophet is a faith-based journey for one man’s sanity.
