Taking you home from the hospital, clueless and ready to love you.

Taking you home from the hospital, clueless and ready to love you.

For my first born , Asher Elias on his 6th birthday. A letter from my soul to yours.

I strongly believe in the power of our words. We can choose life or death in the words we speak to ourselves, and others. The very night I shockingly found I was pregnant with you, I decided to take my words to another level. To protect you with them. Guide you within my womb to be the handsome, loving young man you are today.

I couldn’t be more proud to be your mother.

You are special . So special .

Although you are only six I can see your personality developing into the man of God I prayed so fiercely for.

Please don’t stop delighting in making people laugh, that’s a quality that will open up realms into sharing Jesus with others. Laughter breaks down barriers that people build because of bitterness and hurt. I see how you break those down with your smile and kind encouraging words. Don’t stop.

I love the way your freckles dance across your cheeks like mine. I love the way you give kisses with just your bottom lip poking out. Don’t stop.

I love the way you take charge of an activity like you own it, your ideas are excellent and creative. I love the way your mind ticks. Don’t stop.

I love the way you see a need and meet it. I love the way you take up for the underdog. This world needs more people like you. Don’t stop.

I love the way you protect your sisters , in such a way that I can see how you will treat your wife. With care and love. Don’t stop.

I wrote you that note with blessings to say aloud every day. I hung it on our tiny , beat up refrigerator in our first apartment. Each morning I would say what I wrote aloud, hand on my belly , blessing you. You’ve turned out to be each of those things and more .

I can’t wait to grow with you. Thank you for forcing me into Motherhood so young. Thank you for teaching me what it is to love unconditionally and love unselfishly. There is no other way to love that is as effective as that.

You’ve taught me and shown me how our Father loves. With such passion , I know He loves me.

He gave me you.
