Located in the basement bar where Pivo Pivo used to reside on Waterloo Street, you’ll find a new Irish pub called Kitty O’Shea’s but thankfully not of the generic bland kind, as this place is pretty quirky and far more steampunk looking than the Steampunk cafe ever was!
It’s also the first place in Glasgow to sell Molson Coor’s Irish brand Franciscan Well beers from Cork – all 3 varieties are on draft (Rebel Red, Chieftain IPA & Shandon Stout) at £3.95 per pint.
Interesting seating in the “confessionals”
There’s lots of wood, and doors – the mural of Prague that was in Pivo Pivo has been replaced with doors glued to the walls which is a little unusual but does warm up the place!
Booths
Most of the seating is in booths and alcoves.
Menu
Menu
Memphis dog
Solid German style sausage, not frankfurter type in a fluffy but firm bun. Creamy, cheesy mac and cheese on top with bacon bits. Delicious!
Can’t remember this burgers name! Mr Foodie sampled this one. Good meaty burger with fresh salad.
Pulled pork and BBQ sauce fries
Gooey, sauces and meaty. Melt in your mouth pulled pork over skinny fries.
Mrs Foodie and The Colonel had lunch yesterday so a mix of reviews as we have been a few times and not pulled our finger out to post.
Lunch menu Mutha Clucka
Large buttermilk soaked chicken chunk with cheese and salad. For the £4.95 inc soft drink, we thought this was a great deal. The Colonel went for a swine burger – burger topped with pulled pork, bacon and BBQ sauce. He asked for no fancy green stuff, just meat – it arrived perfect. He was very quiet whilst eating, not like him at all!
White choc chip cookie and ice cream
Unfortunately for The Colonel he had to return to work before seeing this, or my sugar coma afterwards. Like a gooey subway cookie with added ice cream. Heaven. Would be good for sharing, but best for yourself.
TL;DR
+ lunch deal
+ good beer
+ good food
- I want to keep here secret as it will get busy.
