Samagi Jana Balavegaya MP Mujibur Rahuman charged that the Government has failed to reduce the price of essential goods during the festive season.
Speaking to the media at the Opposition Leader’s office he said essential food items have skyrocketed and people are finding it difficult to make ends meet. He said in 2022, a family of four needed Rs.80,000 per month to purchase essential goods and in 2023 this figure has risen to Rs.150,000.
