I’ve been trying to wrap my head around this all afternoon since Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio came out of that clos..er door and introduced himself to the world as Pope Francis. So yeah, what happens now? I’m pretty sure nothing really happens except Catholics around the world getting all excited about some white smoke. In fact had I not watched The Da Vinci Code, I probably would have had no idea what Conclave is. No worries here though, as I’m sure Tom Hanks was there to chat up Francis as he was getting fitted for his robe.
Word on the street was that they wanted a new Pope installed before Easter which makes this whole thing seem rushed. Kinda like giving Ryan Fitzpatrick a contract extension after a few games.
