We are officially in our first week of Summer!
You know what that means???
Flip Flops, Lemonade, and days spent suntanning at the beach.
This will be our first Summer on the East Coast. This past Winter was brutal so I am looking forward to some much needed Vitamin D. The past few weeks I have had the pleasure of visiting a few new places including Newport, Rhode Island and Cape Cod. While they are both considerably different than the California Beaches I grew up with, the scenery takes your breath away. It is so beautiful. We plan to see much more of the New England Coast in the upcoming months.
With the change of Seasons, you know what that means….
YES! You have to update your wardrobe as well.
That does not mean go out and replace everything. It is the little details that count. And by details, I mean accessorizing. This can include the addition of jewelry, lightweight scarves {yes you can wear a scarf in Summer!}, or even something as little as updating your footwear or handbag to a bright Summer color.
The addition of Accessories will take your outfit from drab to FAB.
Yes, I just said that.
One of my favorite memories as child was look for shells on the beach… more specifically Abalone shells. I have one that was made into a necklace on a piece of hemp that I have had for years. Every time I go to the beach I wear it. I am constantly trying to find fun versatile Summer accessories that can be dressed up or dressed down.
Recently I have had the pleasure of collaborating with J. Jill, and lucky for me their new Summer Accessory line is exactly what I was looking for. I had the opportunity of trying out the “Pure Jill Cuff“. I was curious how the horn was acquired to make the bracelet and this what J. Jill says {which is awesome btw!} “The Pure Jill cuff is crafted from bull horn that is shed naturally by the animals. These beautiful pieces are hand carved and no two pieces are alike.” While the bracelet is indeed made from bull horn, it has the same look and feel of the necklace I love so much.
