Real Techniques - Buffing Brush
After seeing a number of reviews from beauty bloggers and make-up artists gushing about the Real Techniques Buffing Brush I knew I needed to get my hands on it. Frustratingly, it is only available as part of the four-piece Core Collection, not as a stand alone item, which retails at just over £20. I wasn't particularly interested in the other brushes, so delayed buying it in the hope it would become available individually...or that the boyf would pick up on my not-so-subtle hints!. So you can imagine my delight when I won Hannah's giveaway over on her blog Palindrome Poppet! And even more amazingly, I won the collection on a Monday and it had arrived in the post first thing Tuesday morning - that is what I call good service! So since receiving it a couple of weeks ago I've been using it to apply my foundation - Bourjois Healthy Mix. I know many people question whether it can be used for applying foundation, but after seeing some of my favorite beauty bloggers (including guru Tanya Burr) recommend it, who am I to question?I've found this brush to be fab! I usually apply my foundation with a Sigma F80 which now seems so dense and heavy compared to this. In my opinion the Buffing Brush uses a little more product than the F80 does, but it creates that flawless look with much less effort. It's easy to  build coverage without looking cakey and blends onto the skin a dream. No tide marks here! I've also tried it with Estee Lauder Double Wear, Estee Lauder Invisible Fluid Makeup and Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid - all applied perfectly. This brush definitely gets a big thumbs up from me. The other brushes I've not really used as much yet to be able to give an opinion, although I'm looking forward to figuring out how to contour with the little contour brush! The pointed foundation brush is useful for getting to those hard to reach places - corners of nose and eyes etc, and have been wanting a little detailer brush to apply lip products for a while. Have you tried the Buffing Brush? What do you think?
