You need to put the following path into your chrome browser's address bar and press enter.

chrome://net-internals/#sockets

You will be redirected to a new screen where you get option " Flush socket pools ". Simply click on it.

Now paste the following path into your browser and press enter.

chrome://net-internals/#events&q=type:SPDY_SESSION is:active#sockets

You will see a red strip that is having down arrow button at right corner. Click on it and select the option "Flush sockets".

3. Flush DNS cache and Renew IP Address

First of all click on start button and search for "CMD" (in windows 7). Once you found it, right click on it and select "Run as Administrator" (In later versions of windows, you will find CMD (Admin) directly so no need to "run as administrator".)

Type ipconfig/flushdns and press enter.

Now type ipconfig/renew and press enter.

It takes few seconds in running both of these commands and you get flushed DNS and Renewed IP Address.

We have already talked upon the supporting issue of SPDY protocol. The chrome is no longer supporting this protocol. So if you are using the old version of browser, you might face err_spdy_protocol_error. To resolve this issue, you should update your chrome browser. 5. Cross Check your System's Antivirus Software

I never encountered this issue with the Avast antivirus, however, some of my clients witnessed err spdy protocol error causes this antivirus. If you are facing this issue, and having same antivirus in your desktop then you need to add these websites into web shield exclusion list of Avast. To do so, follow the below steps:

  1. Open Avast security application installed in your PC.
  2. Open setting tab there and go to "active protection tab"
  3. Open the Customize web shield protection
  4. Add the problematic websites here one by one.

You have to make sure that all the urls have been added correctly, otherwise following any method may go waste. This solution should fix the err spdy protocol error on your chrome browser.

All the above 5 methods gives a solution to resolve this error. I use them to remove this error, so they should also work on your PC as well. If none of the above solution helps you to get rid of this error, then simply uninstall your current chrome browser and install a fresh copy.
