Later, a fight took place between the two groups and a team including Sub-Inspector Karunaratne, who was on the Kadugannawa police’s mobile patrol service, came there and tried to control the situation. At that time, the sub-inspector was also hit and he was admitted to Kadugannawa Henawala Hospital for treatment.

The rest of the police officers who were injured were party participants and they were admitted to the Kandy National Hospital for treatment. The two persons arrested for assaulting the police officers are residents of the Pilimathalawa area. The Kadugannawa police are conducting investigations into the incident.
