It’s amazing as any other languages that we are able to fluently speak the foreign language that we possibly can’t know about. I am no native in English language, but thankful I am with the education I attained that I can speak as fluent as any native English speaker is.

It can also be possible for you to attain fluency with Spanish language by going through proper learning. But before going through such serious level, let’s just start from the basics.

Here are five basic lessons learners like you should begin taking before proceeding to a formal learning in language institutions; or even more, to study Spanish abroad.

Lesson #1: Basic Phrases

¡Hola!  – Hello

Buenos días  -  Good morning

Buenas tardes  – Good afternoon

Buenas noches  – Good evening

¡Hola! ¿Que tal? – Hi. How are things?

¿Cómo está / estás?  – How are you?

¿Como se llama? – What is your name?

Me llamo José  -  My name is José ,  (literally) I am called José

¡Adiós!  – Bye!

Hasta luego  -  See you later

Hasta mañana -  See you in the morning

Vaya con dios  -  Farewell – (Literally) Go with God

Lesson #2: Personal Pronouns

Yo – I

  – You (informal)

él – He

ella – She

Usted  – You (formal)

nosotros (m)  nosotras (f) – we

vosotros (m)  vosotras (f) – you all

ellos  – he (plural)

ellas – she (plural)

Ustedes – they (formal)

Lesson #5: Telling the Time

Asking the time – ¿Qué hora es?

One o’clock  – Es la una.

Two o’clock  - Son las dos

Three o’clock – Son las tres

In the morning – de la mañana

In the wee hours of the morning – de la madrugada

In the evening – de la noche
