First Bar Exchange in Gurgaon – Vapour Bar Exchange

By Rohit Dassani

Vapour Bar Exchange is nothing less than a stock market but instead of betting on stocks, we bet on drinks. The prices keeps fluctuating based on the demand of the drink and are displayed on screens at all corners. Vapour also drops the price drastically, making things even more interesting. That’s the reason prices are not put up on the menu for the drinks. Vapour Bar Exchange is first of its kind in Gurgaon. The place is located in Sector 29 Market in Gurgaon on the 2nd floor of a newly raised property. ‘Vapour’ Bar Exchange is the 2nd outlet under this brand name, the first one being in MG Road, Gurgaon. The Microbrewery is coming up shortly.

The ambiance reminds me of a European Bar as the entire place is made out of wood with an elevated stage for any music concert. The bar is huge with plenty of options to choose from. The seating is also comfortable with sofas on the sides. Vapour also has a semi open area on one end. The music was amazing as they kept playing pop numbers. We tried the Caprioshka, Cosmopolitian and the Sangria. The cocktails were strong but flavorful. For Mocktails we had the Setting Sun, Summer Hummer and Virgin Mojito. The Setting Sun was made of 2 colors, while the Summer Hummer had a strong taste of Lychee.

Vapour has an extensive range of finger food and the Vapour Fries are one of their best. Comes with a small portion of onion Rings, Potato Wedges, Corn & Cheese Bites and French Fries along with garlic aioli and sweet & spicy dip. The best out of them were the Corn & Cheese Bites which just melted in the mouth along with the Onion Rings. The dips were an excellent combination with these foods. The Mushroom Duplex had Mushrooms stuffed with cheese, bell pepper and pepper corns. Then deep fried with bread crumps. TheVeg Tostadas had toasted beans, salad and cheese on corn crispy tortilla chips. It was nothing less than a complete pizza bite. The Oriental Pizza was so so, the Pizza was topped with Thai sauce, Bell Peppers and Onions.

Next we tried the Cool & Crisp Salad with Lettuce, cherry Tomatoes, Onions and Bell peppers in a mustard and vinegar dressing. Wish the dressing was a bit more stronger. The Pesto Pasta had a creamy pesto sauce. The Leek Spinach Soup is one their best item on the menu made from leek and spinach. The after taste of fresh cracked peppers was simply amazing. Would definitely go back to Vapour for this. A must try! The Galauti Kebab were excellent in taste. The Kebab were very soft and went well with the green mint chutney. The Dumpukht Biryani was simple yet flavorful. Came with a portion of raita and salan.

Vapour Bar Exchange has a number of homemade desserts options. Like the Blueberry Cheesecake, a New York styled Cheesecake topped with Blueberry sauce. Great in taste! The Caramel Custard on the other hand could have been much better. The Choco Mud Pie had a layered crust topped with chocolate delight. The Chocolate Walnut Brownie with Icecream was classical.

Vapour is no doubt a great place to hangout keeping in mind that the prices keeps changing making the process of ordering even more interesting.
