Firestone's connection to music dates back to 1928, an exciting time in the history of automobiles, tyres and music in the United States. Its founder, Harvey Firestone, was passionate about music, and launched a radio programme on NBC, 'The Voice of Firestone'. The programme provided emerging talented musicians with a platform from which to launch their careers and bring their music to new listeners. People would gather around radios every Monday evening to listen in, and the programme quickly became the most successful entertainment broadcast of its time.
